Anniston started kindergarten this year. I can't believe it. People asked if it made me sad or emotional, and it really didn't. I was so excited for her! Also, the transition was made much easier because she stayed at her same school, Gingerbread...and everything I heard about "Kindies", their kindergarten class, was amazing- I couldn't wait for her to get to experience it. She said she was nervous to go and have new teachers, but after school she said she had an awesome day, and she hasn't looked back since! She loves school so much and I am so grateful for Gingerbread.
After school I took Anniston on a little lunch date to Mcalisters to hear about her day. It was so fun to be with her and talk about her day.
This guy had his first day at Gingerbread this year, as a Gingerbread Giant. He had a great day too. After school, the teacher came up to me and said "He has been correcting us all day when we call him Benton, and telling us his name is Benny. Do you care if we call him Benny at school, or do you want us to shut that down?" We call Benton Benny as a nickname (and also Ben), but I never thought it would be his name...but for now, he introduces himself as "Benny" and prefers people call him that. I was so surprised and it makes me laugh a little bit when all his paperwork from school comes home with Benny on it. I will be so interested to see if Benny sticks or if he will change to Benton or Ben over the years...but for now, it's Benny!
