I can't believe Anniston is 5. It felt like a very sentimental birthday. Throughout the day, I would remember the way I felt the day she was born. Five years earlier when the day I had longed for finally arrived and it was every bit as perfect as I had dreamed it would be...and then five years later, on her birthday when she had the stomach bug and we were in the midst of sickness, Thanksgiving food prep, sibling conflict...and I couldn't help but think...it's still just how I dreamed it would be. She is truly a joy, full of kindness and adventure.
For her birthday, we had a superhero party. The girls got to decorate capes, fight the villain with silly string, do some art on the fence, and of course eat some cookie cake! It was a great time!
We also got to take Anniston on a special date, just the three of us. We drove to Oklahoma City and she picked out a special necklace. After weeding out some other favorites that we had to say no to (a diamond necklace and a necklace with a slice of pizza on it), she chose a very pretty "A" necklace. Then we headed off to the Cheesecake Factory for some mac and cheese and cheesecake! It was such a fun night celebrating her!
