The thing about a birth is that you never know how it's going to go. Anniston was induced three days before her due date. Benton came on his own four days before his due date. So I was mentally preparing for this little one to come on her own about a week before her due date. I mean, she was my third baby, wasn't that how it was supposed to work? So we made sure to have everything ready for her arrival and we waited. and waited. and waited. Her due date came and she had not. So my parents drove in and took the kids for a slumber party at a hotel with a pool. What fun for them! That gave us one last night of good sleep before we woke up early and headed to the hospital to be induced. We were so excited! We got started about 7 am and before noon she was here! It all happened so fast that our dear friend Sarah Denbow made it to photograph the birth just as she was ready to come and just as the doctor walked in the door. Such perfect timing! So at 11:53 am, our dear baby girl, our third born, came into the world at 6 pounds, 15 ounces and 19.5 inches long. She was beautiful. The day was perfect.
Before we found out what we were having, Jake had said that he wanted to have another little girl. So when they told us it was a girl, tears came quickly to my sweet husband. He felt the Lord say that she was a gift and would be a light to our family. So we set out to find the perfect name for our little one.
Eiley Jane Bauer
Eiley, meaning light, and Jane, meaning gift from God. Perfect.
