The New House

The search for a new home took almost a year.  One night my parents were in town and Jake, my mom, and I stayed up late talking and dreaming about our house...and they stopped and asked why I wasn't saying anything.  I admitted that it was because I couldn't imagine I could find a house that really met what I was looking for.   In our price range, 4 bedrooms, playroom area for kids, in the area I wanted close to friends, updated (or the ability to make it updated)...we had been looking for almost a year and hadn't come close to finding something that met this criteria.  So the next morning my mom calls to tell me she looked at a house that may work.  We went and looked at it and agreed that it met every single thing I was looking for!  We made an offer that day and were going to close in less than a month.  After closing came months of work to update it, including converting the dining room to a fourth bedroom to make room for a future little one, as well as room for Sara until another little one came.  Jake was the mastermind who picked out everything and I was really just along for the ride.  He has much better taste.  Between his ideas and some help from my mom, a beautiful home for us to live in was created.  I was so thankful for the Lord to provide above and beyond what we had asked for, and thankful for both sets of parents whose generosity enabled us to make it happen.  So thankful for our new home!
