Colorado 2014

Jake has been asking to take our family to Buena Vista, Colorado pretty much since we've been married...and honestly, I haven't really wanted to go.  I couldn't picture a week there- what would we do?  So finally this year, Jake convinced me to give it a try...and what happened?  I completely fell in love.  We rented a house from a family that were Young Life directors for Wilderness Ranch Young Life camp (I found this out by creeping around on the internet).  They have young kids our age, which was perfect!  The house was filled with toys and perfectly set up for our family.  It was decorated so cute and I felt so at home and peaceful as soon as we walked in the doors.  I loved Colorado and was already looking forward to coming back again!

The road trip there-

Daily breakfast at the Roastery

The house- I did a terrible job taking meaningful pictures of the house...but here's a few I did get.

Walks into town

Hike at Chalk Lake

They had a drive in movie that was playing while we were there.  We were so excited to take Anniston to a drive in, but she fell asleep before we even got there and slept through the whole thing.

Snuggle time.

Joel and Gigi came for a few days and it was great to have them there!  This is at Twin Lakes near Leadville.  So fun for Anniston to be able to get in the water.

Another hike to another lake.

We decided to take a longer hike with Anniston in a backpack and Benton in the Ergo carrier.  It was fun, but we decided next year we would need two backpacks.

Jake took Anniston to the Evergreen Cafe where they sat on the barstools and had lunch.  What a fun little date.
