February 2018

For Valentine's Day, we started with some pink cinnamon roll bites for breakfast, then a Valentine's lunch.

We always want to take this day to remind each other what we love about them.  So I came up with this great plan.  We each had a string with hearts on it and we would go around and say what we loved about each person, I would write it down and they would get to keep theirs.  In full disclosure, this did not go as I had envisioned in my head.  Lots of kids running around, not paying attention, a baby crying...it was messy- but I have to remind myself, we are practicing things we value.  One day it won't look like this and we will be glad we practiced even when it was hard.

Valentine's gifts from Gigi and Nana.  So grateful for the way their grandparents love them.

Valentine's flowers from Dad

The kids were addressing their Valentine's cards for their friends.  I had planned to start several days ahead (rare for me!) so that Benny could do a few each day...he sure surprised me when he sat down and did every single one of them in one sitting.  He loved it!

He even had some friends that weren't in his class, so he made special Valentine's for them.

Everyone loves bed time with Dad.

I came in one day to Benny setting up all of his toys to watch a performance.  This must have taken awhile.

Snow day!

Loved my birthday flowers from friends!  For my birthday this year, I had lunch with friends at La Madeleine.  It was a snowing outside and we sat inside and ate and talked.  It was so fun!  I'm so grateful for a husband that loves me so well and always thinks to help coordinate a fun birthday when I would never do it for myself.

He loves to dress fancy.

I love that my kids loves to snuggle.

So wide eyed.
